  Bank of Liverpool and Martins opens its branch at 169 Allerton Road in 1925.
  Martins Bank has several branches in this part of Liverpool, amongst them MOSSLEY
  HILL, SMITHDOWN, and HEATHFIELD.  |

 It is
  especially sad for us that an external photo of Allerton Road Branch has yet
  to be found, but we are lucky enough to have a selection of staff faces to
  show you in the gallery below. Unusually, there are no less than THREE female
  faces AND an appearance by Alec R Ellis, the long-time editor of
  Martins Bank Magazine, all of whom played a part in keeping Allerton Road
  open throughout World War 2.  Allerton
  Road Branch is closed in 1991, after sixty-six years of service…
