Main branches are found at 2
and 16 Silver Street and at King Cross, all in Halifax itself, and 2 Silver Street
has a sub branch at Ripponden. Shelf, and a further sub-Branch at Ovenden are
sub-Branches to 2 Silver Street Halifax.
Shelf remains open until 1942, when the needs of war outweigh the
Bank’s capablility to staff each and every outlet. Whilst a number branches close until the
end of the War, many more remain closed in what is to become the second
period of consolidation for the modern day Martins Bank. |
