The Bank of Liverpool and Martins opens a
sub-Branch to Corbridge at Riding Mill, Northumberland, in 1923.  It does not last very long, and is Mill is
closed in 1935 as part of the first of three waves of branch closures
undertaken by the modern day Martins Bank.
1930s closures result from consolidation following the merger with the
Lancashire and Yorkshire Bank, the rebuilding 68 Lombard Street and the
erection of the Bank’s Head Office premises in Water Street, Liverpool.  We have no image of this branch, so if you can help with
images or information about this or any of Martins Bank’s 1000+ Branch
Buildings please do get in touch with us at the usual address: martinsbankarchive@btinternet.com. |
