The Equitable Bank merges
with the Bank of Liverpool and Martins in 1927, just a few months ahead of the creation of
the modern-day Martins Bank. A number
of Yorkshire Branches and sub-Branches come to Martins from the Equitable,
amongst them Birkby, sub to Huddersfield Westgate Branch. Birkby is a Branch that has thus far kept
many of its secrets from us, although we will keep digging until we have
found the information we need, to fill in all the gaps. |
