   Although Burnage is not officially
listed as a sub-Branch, the name of Mr E Tiffany, who runs Longsight Branch
is recorded as Manager in Martins Bank’s Annual Report and Accounts for the
years in which the Branch is open.  In
our Staff Gallery Below, Mr Howell-Jones is recorded in Martins Bank Magazine
as having worked at Burnage, but exact dates have not been provided.  As already mentioned, Burnage sub-Branch
does not last long – less than four years in fact – and it joins a list of
Branch closures made in the early thirties in the first major consolidation
of Martins Bank’s Branch Network since the formation of the modern day Bank
in 1928.  There are currently no images
of this Branch, and if you can help with images or memories of any of the 1000
or so buildings used over the years by Martins Bank as Branches, please do
get in touch with us as the usual address – martinsbankarchive@btinternet.com.
