Heswall Branch is opened in 1925 by the Bank of
Liverpool and Martins. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, and is
responsible for sub-Branches at Irby and Neston. Heswall is one of a number
of branches for which we have little information but there are a few images
in the Barclays Collection. The strong
presence of Martins Bank on the Wirral and throughout Cheshire is the result
of the various amalgamations that have taken place over the years to build
the modern-day Bank. In 1958 the branch is given a makeover, and the
following short article is published in Martins Bank Magazine to give staff a
glimpse of the new interior, and to highlight the lavish materials that have
gone into achieving the new look…
