Dillon Walker Logo & Address 1971.jpg Dillon Walker and Co is listed as a Subsidiary Company of Martins Unicorn Limited in 1968 in Martins’ Green Book, which is the Bank’s own internal directory of Branches, companies and Services. The Company is very useful to the Bank, as it is a licensed dealer in Securities, and to have such a specialism under the same roof as Martins Unicorn makes good economic sense at this time. The company is retained by Barclays as part of their successful re-branding of Martins unicorn products and services. It is not clear from the few available records exactly when Dillon Walker & Co actually becomes part of Martins Bank, but our friends at Barclays Group Archives have kindly provided us with the following information from their own Martins records:

As recorded in the Company’s Minutes from 5 September 1957, Dillon Walker was incorporated on 27 August 1957. Its Registered Office (at incorporation) was Stevinson House, 154/156 Fenchurch Street, London E.C.3 Barclays Minutes from 14 August 1974 record that with efffect from 31 December 1974, Dillon Walker & Company’s name is to be changed to Barclays Unicorn (Trustees) Limited”.}
