 Wearhead is the sub-Branch to
  Martins Bank’s ST
JOHN’S CHAPEL office. Unusually the opening hours of these two offices are
arranged using a combination of morning and afternoon opening times across
the six-day banking week. It’s a bit like having one branch split over two
locations.  Opened by the North Eastern
Banking Company in 1905, Wearhead will survive the merger with Barclays by about
six months, and thus go to extremes to be helpful at least until the end of
Martins Bank.  Inside, the branch is
bright and airy, and free of bandit screens, making village banking even more
  personal and friendly… |
